Terms of service

This document needs review by a qualified lawyer before launch. It accurately describes what the software does — the data flows below were written from the source code — but it has not been reviewed for legal sufficiency in any jurisdiction.

The service

EmailTrackApp is a Chrome extension and web service that reports when email you send from Gmail has been opened. It works by inserting an invisible image into your outgoing message.

What we do not promise

Read receipts depend on the recipient's mail client loading images, and many do not. Outlook desktop and Proton Mail commonly block remote images; Apple Mail Privacy Protection prefetches them automatically, which we detect and exclude rather than report as a false open.

An absence of a read receipt does not mean the email was unread. Repeat open counts are a lower bound, not an exact figure, because Gmail caches images through its own proxy. Do not rely on this service for anything where a wrong answer carries legal, financial or safety consequences.

Acceptable use

You may not use EmailTrackApp to:

You are the data controller for the email you send. Complying with the law where you and your recipients are located is your responsibility.

Accounts, billing and cancellation

Free accounts are limited to 50 tracked emails per calendar month. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled; cancel any time and access continues to the end of the paid period. Lifetime purchases are one-time and are not affected by subscription changes.

Termination

We may suspend an account that breaches the acceptable-use terms above. You may delete your account at any time, which removes your data.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the preceding twelve months.
